New York Wedding: Greg and Claire
This wedding had so many cool features: a red corvette, bride who loves the piano and sang to her groom at the reception (awwwwwww, sniff, sniff), a waterfall, an ice cream shop, a bride and groom who were pretty much up for anything oh and did I mention that the wedding colors were the same as my new business colors!
Thank you so much Greg and Claire for allowing me to be part of your day, it was nothing sort of a fairy tale!!!
I think it's safe to say the bride and groom had one thing on their mind that day
I found so many ways to incorporate Claire's love for the piano into her pics
Love this ring shot!
You guys know about my love of shoes =)
We got a little gansta with this shot lol
Claire couldn't be more beautiful
Yes, this is the groom checking the oil in his tux! A true mechanic .
I spy with my little eye...
I've been working on painting with light and I really like how this one turned out!
The great get-a-way!!!
Much much more to come!!

In search of new fun stuff!
K so I decided today (oh wait it's 2am so technically that would be yesterday) ;) that I wanted to go into Dayton and find a few new areas for pictures. I worked it up in my mind something like this.... "Ok you can do this, you are not afraid to be alone in Dayton, you are independent, strong and confident." I was totally psyched.
It ended up something like this.... "Ok I'm terrified...oh wait did I just miss that turn.....Man this is a one way again!.... Stupid GPS....(palms sweating, heart pounding) Where are the quarters I packed for the parking meter, No turn on red 6am-6pm so where the heck do I go now!!!!"
I was a mess. Every time I go to Dayton alone this is what happens. I was so afraid that my fear prevented me to let loose and notice the beauty or just stuff that would normally catch my eye. I was so mad and frustrated. Solution to problem..... call my beloved Tracy! She shoots in Dayton, maybe she can give me some cool safe locations!
TRACY TO THE RESCUE!!!! Lucky for me she had a senior session within minutes and they were coming to Dayton!! Sweet!
She shows up, whisks me to a few locations and before I knew it all the fear was gone, I was excited and stuff was catching my eye right and left. She does that to me, as a photographer and as a friend, I feel so very relaxed and I get to be me, flaws and all! You don't get to do that with many people. (You are one of my sweetest friends Tracy) Thank you....
But look at who Tracy brought! This gorgeously beautiful senior with the most beautiful eyes ever!
Hey who's this pretty lady?

The Sallee workshop
First of all I am really glad I went! I had a bunch of fun with some awesome photographers and learned a bunch. You know I think the best thing at this workshop was that JB Sallee let his work speak for itself. He didn't come in with an attitude of any sort (and let me tell you his stuff was the bombdiggity so he totally could have been puffed up), but he just talked to us like friends. He shared his flaws and mistakes and that to me spoke so much. Like I said I had a great time and learned so very useful stuff that I wanted to try out so here goes:
This is an image I took at the lovely Leah's wedding that I wanted to add some texture. Here it is before:
Here it is after some texture

What am I doing tonight?
Besides thinking I NEED TO STOP already and go to bed??
Practicing dragging the shutter (cause let's face it I stink at it) But I'm getting better
Pondering the importance of white balance...
Ok so here it is right out of the camera (no corrections made) set to the correct white balance
Here it is on auto white balance WOW this is crappy. Look at the yellow tint =(
Answer to ponderance.... White balance IS very important....
Lusting after my future point and shoot camera!!! The G10 I want it so bad. For 2 years now I have whined and moaned about getting a point and shoot camera because who wants to take their huge camera out after you have to work with it all day, plus who wants to take the GIANT thing to non professional events (yeah Trav is pretty much tired of being the guy with the girl who has the giant camera).
But I have specific needs that's why it's taken so long to decide...
needs to have a fully manual mode
Be adorably unique (love the retro style)
Great quality (14.5 mega pixels)
Usable with Canon external flashes
Video capable
Oh and also listening to Mr. fuzzy pants cry cause he wants to go to bed!

Are you a daring bride
So I was thinking about the “Trash the Dress” sessions that are becoming so very popular. All the while, looking in my closet at my beautiful hand beaded wedding dress, 6ft train and all. Memories of the day flooded my mind. I was lost in a vision of me standing with my daughter, explaining why every detail was so important and exclaiming “look at mommy's princess dress!!” While I know she may never wear my dress, there still is something very sentimental about having it here physically. (Also very nice to have it here every year so that I can try it on and dance around behind the locked door of my bedroom LOL!) Hey, it’s who I am and the thought of “Trashing” my dress or yours is just way too stressful.
Although, I do love the artistic movement of the pictures and appreciate the fresh ideas. There is just something about the contrast that draws me in, but I believe the same picture can be achieved without completely trashing the dress.
So if you enjoy the idea of taking your wedding dress out again and getting some edgy picture without complete distruction of your dress, listen up (or read up =) ) I am going to be offering a very tame version called “Daring bridal sessions” You may leave with a dry cleaners bill, but you will also leave with the beautiful dress in hand. So if you are a “Daring Bride” who wants to get some great post wedding pics with your dress I would love to hear from you!
Here are just a few from a great session with the beautiful Mandy:

The eyes behind the eyes
A few weeks ago, I received a great opportunity to work with my friend and a wonderful photographer Tracy!
I just adore her! Tracy has been such an inspiration to me. I know God can put people in your path for a purpose but it depends on what you do with the opportunity He presents. If you are able to see that purpose you stand to gain much and so I have.
For that I can't thank you enough Tracy! I can't wait to see what the future will hold for us!
Ok so this wedding was the bomb,I can't believe the beautiful pictures I came away with. I thought it would be fun for the first part of this post to be through the eyes of a second shooter. So here goes:
What can I say... she's crazy!
I like this one, I don't know if you can tell but there are three photographers in this pic LOL
Ok now my favs:
This was the bride and groom's first glimpse of the ring bearer and the flower girl
Just a cute moment

I believe in love. I cry when I see it’s presence in photographs of people I don’t even know. I believe love can be touched with the eyes as they move across the well told story of a photograph. That’s what I want to do… I want to tell love stories with my photographs.
I know Jesus in my heart and through him I know how to change lives. All the beauty I see is because of the stability and inspiration of my home life. Family is so very important to me. They are what makes me complete, my foundation and my encouragement. It is because of them that I know a great love story while looking through a lens.
