You can never really know what tomorrow holds for you. You can hope or pray for what is to come, but there is no real way to know what a day will bring. It is one of the greatest conquests known to man... how to conquer or triumph in all the days that are to come. Although I must ask can you really conquer tomorrow if today is not over? That is one thing I have learned from this family, they live each day with peace and love and all the joy that a day can bring. Their secret? Once upon a time they faced the truth.... tomorrow is not guaranteed.
They faced cancer. They put all hope and trust in God. They struggled. They wept, but they never wavered in faith. It was like watching a ship in the sea during a terrible storm and amazingly enough the boat never tilted or swayed with the rolling water. You can't begin to understand it until you meet who it was, that kept them in their time of storm.
Jesus said he would never leave us nor forsake us and I know C and T will testify to God keeping that promise.
It was a struggle shared by all that knew them. We would pray when we knew a chemo treatment was given and we would pray when he would have a checkup. All the while just waiting for some kind of answer and then it happened. One night at church T stood up to give a testimony and he began by singing a hymn called My sins are gone
The first verse of the song is:
You ask why I am happy so I'll just tell you why,
Because my sins are gone;
And when I meet the scoffers who ask me where they are,
I say, "My sins are gone."
Only when he sang it, it went like this:
You ask why I'm happy so I'll just tell you why, because the cancer's gone!!!
Shouts of joy ripped though the room, people jumped to their feet and true relief was felt by everyone. People began thanking God while others just stood and cried. It was truly an awesome answer to prayer. It was one of the most amazing moments I have experienced. I felt as if I had beat cancer! I call myself blessed to have such an inspiring family as my friends. I draw strength from your story when I am in the midst of the storms of my life.
Their story didn't end there. At that time they had 4 boys and had always longed to add a little girl to family, but after the chemo the doctor's weren't sure if it would be possible to even try again. The church family began to pray with them and before we knew it another joyous announcement was made. They were pregnant and it would be a girl! So without further ado here she is!
If you look closely into a child's eyes, you can become quite certain of the existence of God
Oh my those eyes... just amazing
The storm came and the wind blew, but I shut my eyes and turned toward the Son
Look at that dimple! Just adorable
Sometimes being a brother is even better than being a superhero
Chasing an 18month old down for a pic can be tricky
but even when they stare at the ground you can still get a good eye shot lol
